Volleyball Recap: Oregon vs Portland
Your Oregon Ducks took on the Portland Pilots on Wednesday night, looking to stay undefeated on the young season. The first game would be pretty back-and-forth, with UP jumping out to an early 10-5 lead, before Oregon would storm back to tie things up at 16 all. The Ducks would eventually break the tie, winning 25-21.
The second game would be more of the same, with both sides bouncing back and forth with multiple ties, eventually knotting things up at 19-19, until Oregon would once again take control, pulling away 25-20, and winning the game.
Game three would be, you guessed it, super close all the way through. UP wasn’t going down without a fight, constantly battling the Ducks, and not letting them get more than a point or two away from them. They were actually leading the game 13-10, before Oregon would tie the match at 14, 15, 16, AND 17. But the Ducks would pull ahead, leading 22-18 late in the contest. But, as mentioned, the Pilots weren’t going down easy. They would battle back and win 5 of 6 points, tying things up at 23 all, before the Ducks would rip their hearts out, winning the last two points of the game, and the match along with it.
The Ducks are now a perfect 4-0 on the season, with their next matchup coming up on Saturday, September 6th, against Colorado State.
