Men’s Tennis will be heading into the Big Ten Tournament with a little momentum after nabbing a 4-1 victory over Northwestern, their second consecutive win and third in the last four.

Up one-zero, Oregon needed just three singles wins for the team victory. The Wildcats got right back in the match and evened the score with a court five win. Oregon’s Luemkemann and Pouatcha each swept their courts to give the Ducks a 3-1 edge and a win was in sight.

Oregon will face Illinois to open the conference tournament Thursday.

On the women’s side, Oregon was also victorious with a 4-2 win over Nebraska on a sunny Senior Day.

It was fitting that senior Marjorie Souza clinched the decisive final point on Centre court, rallying to win the final two sets after dropping the opening frame, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. The win snapped a 12-match skid at the top spot in the lineup for Souza and a five-game losing streak as a team.

And it may have been a nice day down in Huntington Beach, but things weren’t so nice for Beach Volleyball as they fell 4-0 to old Pac 12 rival Stanford and 3-1 to former and current conference rival Washington.

Oregon won the first set at No. 1 and 3 pairs but Washington, ranked 20th in this week’s AVCA poll, came away with the 3-1 victory. The Ducks tied the dual at 1-all with a straight-set win by Landree Coats and AJ Slojkowski on court three. The Huskies, however, got wins at the No. 4 and 5 spots in the lineup to clinch the match.

With that, the beach volleyball season has come to an end for Oregon. They finished a disappointing 8-20.
