Tiago Splitter, Patrick St. Andrews Join Blazers Coaching Staff
The Portland Trail Blazers have added two new members to their coaching staff. A league source confirmed multiple reports that former NBA Champion Tiago Splitter has joined Chauncey Billups’ coaching staff, as well as former Memphis Grizzlies lead assistant coach, Patrick St. Andrews.
Splitter enjoyed a seven-year NBA playing career, most notably as a big man next to Tim Duncan on the San Antonio Spurs 2014 NBA Championship roster. After retiring in 2017, the Brazilian spent time as a coach with the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets before serving as Head Coach for Paris Basketball the past 12 months.
Before his tenure as Taylor Jenkins’ lead assistant with the Grizzlies, St. Andrews had stints with Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks. He was fired from Memphis as part of their termination of Jenkins late in the 2024-25 season. He’s also spent time with the Dominican Republic National team.
The news follows the hiring of Stockton Kings championship coach Quinton Crawford to the Blazers staff earlier in the week.
The Blazers parted with assistant coaches Roy Rogers, Chris Fleming, and Ryan Gomes in April after handing Billups an extension.
