Portland Trail Blazers’ NBA Draft Lottery Preview: Time, TV, Odds

Portland Trail Blazers’ NBA Draft Lottery Preview: Time, TV, Odds

On Monday, the NBA will host its annual Draft Lottery in Chicago to determine Picks 1-14 for the NBA Draft in June. As one of the 14 teams that didn’t make the NBA Playoffs, that means the Portland Trail Blazers are less than 24 hours away from discovering where their first-round pick will land this summer.

The unveiling of the Draft Lottery results will air on ESPN, with coverage scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Pacific on Monday.

The Blazers enter Monday’s ping-pong ball drawing with a 3.7% chance to capture the No. 1 overall pick, giving them the 10th-best odds among the field. In other words, the franchise has a 3.7% chance to draft freshman phenom Cooper Flagg out of Duke, the presumed top prospect on the board this year. Much more likely than Flagg coming to Portland, however, is the Blazers coming out of the lottery with the No. 10 pick. There’s a 63.4% chance of that happening.

Below is the full list of lottery odds for the Blazers (Portland could technically pick at Nos. 13 or 14, but the odds are negligible). The main takeaway is you don’t want to see the Blazers logo revealed during the lottery results for Picks 14-10. If Portland isn’t called then, that means the franchise has shot up to Picks 1-4.
