Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant Goes Down Ankle Sprain Against Houston
Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is expected to miss time after suffering a left ankle sprain against the Houston Rockets last night.
The 36-year-old had to be helped to the locker room during third quarter of the Suns’ 109-148 loss after colliding with Rockets big Jabari Smith Jr.
While the exact prognosis is not yet known Durant is not expected to join Suns teammates for the start of the a three-game road trip this week.
After the game, Suns coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters that Durant would undergo an MRI on Monday, and initially would not travel with the club to begin a three-game road trip, starting with the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.
The Suns currently sit 11th in the Western Conference, three games ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers.
This season, Durant is averaging 26.8 points on 43.1 percent from three, to go with 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 blocks.
