Talawetonmi (Reflection of Dawn), also known as Melissa Chapman Parr, was a Cayuse woman who grew up on the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Descendent of Chief Joseph and niece to Chief George Red Hawk, Melissa was the first Native American woman to be selected as the Queen of the Pendleton Round-Up in 1932. She is pictured here with a Rasmussen Meadows company aviator.
