Jaylen Brown Has Arthroscopic Knee Surgery
ESPN is reporting that Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Wednesday morning. The surgery was described as “minimally invasive”, and it is expected that he will be available to fully participate in training camp.
ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported in April that Brown had received pain injections for the knee starting in March, and she later reported in May that he finished the season with a partially torn right meniscus.
Brown averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists during the 2024-25 regular season. Playing through the injury in the playoffs he had 22.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.
Browns recovery is of increased importance due to the Achilles tendon rupture sustained by teammate Jayson Tatum. Tatum’s injury is expected to keep him out of the Celtics’ lineup for at least most of the 2025-26 season.
