Bollywood Theater Closes Its Southeast Division Street Location in Portland

VERNON — Bollywood Theater’s Southeast Division Street location closed on Saturday, April 19, the Oregonian reports. On the plus side, Bollywood isn’t wiped out for good; the Alberta space will continue on and expand its hours to include lunch. In place of this shuttered location, however, owner Troy MacLarty told the paper that he will open Maglia Rosa, “a counter-service Italian restaurant and market.”

SABIN — Although still listed as “temporarily closed,” via Google, it seems that En Vida PDX has closed for good. Bridgetown Bites caught the news, and after some sleuthing, found that the owners confirmed the permanence of the closure via a recent Instagram post.

HOSFORD-ABERNATHY — Bridgetown Bites also caught the closure of vegan spot Virtuous Pie at 1126 SE Division Street, which shuttered as of Sunday, April 20. In an Instagram post announcing the closure, the owners thanked their team and the Portland community, writing, “We’re deeply proud of what we’ve built over the years, but the reality of today’s challenging climate has brought us to this hard decision.”

NORTHWEST DISTRICT — Portland’s oldest steakhouse RingSide is temporarily closed after a fire broke out in the kitchen on Saturday, April 5. An update from the Oregonian reports that the restaurant could return as early as July, “barring any unforeseen surprises inside the fire-damaged restaurant.”

KERNS — Flour Bloom says farewell to Portland officially on Wednesday, April 30. The owners behind the East Coast-inspired shop stated in an Instagram post that “after a torturously low season [and] our oven breaking, we just do not have the means to keep it going.”
