What it is: First launching as a pop-up at Normandie inspired by co-owner Amanda Cannon’s New Jersey upbringing with red sauce dishes, Sunday Sauce is now a brick-and-mortar at 902 N Killingsworth Street. The restaurant features a comforting menu of meatballs, garlic bread, eggplant parm, and, yes, a “Sunday sauce” dish— rigatoni with day-long braised beef and pork.

What it is: Top Chef alum Gabriel Pascuzzi has opened pasta and cocktail bar Hey Luigi. A hearty snacks-and-appetizer menu of items like anchovy toast and burrata and confit tomatoes will keep the night moving alongside the strong list of cocktails. But there are heartier dishes that diners might linger longer for, like the bucatini all’Amatriciana and mushroom risotto.

What it is: Sizzle Pie co-founder Matt Jacobson has launched a new pizza spot at the East Burnside Street space that served as the brand’s first location. At Fast Times, expect a strong, neon-tinted ‘80s vibe with new pizza recipes, vegan soft serve ice cream, plus pinball machines and arcade games — and late-night hours to boot.

What it is: LGBTQ space Crush Bar closed in 2024 after 23 years in business, but now a new queer bar has stepped up to fill that loss. Peacock debuted on Thursday, October 2, and already has a robust events calendar with open mics, drag nights, comedy shows, and more. There’s a bar menu of mini hand pies from the Humble Dumpling, as well as vegan and non-vegan offerings, alongside house cocktails with fun names like Rum and Tell That and Pink Pony Club.
