Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Lancaster Exchange building 1928.

Cable installation for the Lancaster Exchange building of Pacific Telephone & Telegraph company, East 17th and Belmont streets, has been started. Work on the building, part of the $1,500,000 project planned by the telephone company for the site. is progressing rapidly, according to A. E. Doyle’s associates architects. —Interior finish work is being completed in the building by Lorenz Brothers, general contractors. Structural work will be completed by December 10.

Oregonian excerpt— The building, designed by A. E. Doyle and associates, is two stories and a basement, fire proof, steel framed, with reinforced concrete floors and brick exterior. It was designed for the ultimate height of four stories. The building has a 92 foot frontage on Belmont street and a 79 foot frontage on East 17th.

The building has additions added since 1928.
