Pritchard Named NBA Sixth Man of the Year
Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard has been named NBA Sixth Man of the Year for the 2024-25 season. Appearing in 80 games, the point guard averaged 14.5 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in 28.4 minutes per game. He helped the Celtics win 61 games, first place in the Atlantic Division, second in the Eastern Conference, third across the league in overall wins.
NBA Communications also tweeted that Pritchard set a single-season record with 246 three-pointers made off the bench. Pritchard shot 40.7% from the three-point arc, 47.2% overall.
The NBA also tweeted out the final voting results. Pritchard finished with 82 of a possible 100 first-place votes for the honor. Malik Beasley of the Detroit Pistons earned 13 first-place votes. The remaining five were split between Ty Jerome and De’Andre Hunter of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Naz Reid of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

This is Pritchard’s first league-wide award in a five-year career after being drafted 26th overall by the Celtics in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Pritchard is a product of West Linn High School and the University of Oregon.
