Rip City Remix’s Bryce McGowens Makes All-NBA G League Second Team

Multiple players for the Rip City Remix were recognized Thursday as the NBA G League unveiled league-wide honors and awards for the 2024-25 season.

Portland Trail Blazers two-way contract guard Bryce McGowens made All-NBA G League Second Team for his work this season with the Remix. Fellow Remix guard Isaac Nogues Gonzalez was also named to the All-NBA G League Defensive Team.

The accolade caps off an impressive third season for the 22-year-old McGowens. The 6-foot-7 lanky guard led the G League in scoring with 29.3 points per game, to go along with 4.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds. McGowens was also named the G League Player of the Week on Feb. 4 — the first time a member of the Remix took home the honor — and was a member of the G League’s Rising Stars team at NBA All-Star Weekend. McGowens’ season ended after he suffered a right rib fracture in the Remix’s loss to the Sioux Falls Skyforce on March 24.

Nogues Gonzalez finished third in voting for the G League Defensive Player of the Year. The 21-year-old, 6-foot-5 guard from Spain closed out the year with 49 steals in 25 regular season appearances, while averaging 2.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He also set a G League single-game record in December with 10 steals in a G League Tipoff Tournament game against the Santa Cruz Warriors. In early March, Nogues Gonzalez declared for this summer’s NBA Draft.

The Remix closed out the regular season with a 14-20 record, missing the G League playoffs.
