Chef Sam Saltos is bringing something new to Portland homes. How would you like to have a trained Sushi Chef bring fresh seafood and fish and create an intimate dinner for you and your close friends? Saltos will start offering Portlanders an Omakase dinner. Omasake is a Japanese term meaning chef’s choice. You’ll be able to sit back, in the comfort of your home, and watch Chef Sam slice and smoke fish and create some of the best sashimi you’ve ever had. (Trust me, I ate the sashimi and it was divine.) I photographed his first Omakase house dinner a few weeks ago. Documenting Sam creating and photographing the plates was so much fun and I loved how the images turned out.
