Blazers’ Robert Williams, Jerami Grant Questionable to Play vs. Nuggets
Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III and forwards Jerami Grant and Kris Murray are questionable to play against the Denver Nuggets on the road Monday, the organization announced on social media.
Blazers wing Justin Minaya and new acquisition Sidy Cissoko are both out for the game due to their two-way contract responsibilities. Wing Matisse Thybulle also remains out with a right ankle sprain.
INJURY REPORT 2/10 @ DEN:
OUT
Sidy Cissoko (Two-Way)
Justin Minaya (Two-Way)
Matisse Thybulle (R Ankle Sprain)
QUESTIONABLE
Jerami Grant (R Knee Soreness)
Kris Murray (L Quad Contusion)
Robert Williams III (R Knee Soreness)
Most notable from the report, Williams’ status as questionable with right knee soreness comes as somewhat of a relief. Williams exited during the second quarter of Portland’s 114-98 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves Saturday due to a right knee injury. This initial diagnosis of knee soreness doesn’t appear to hold long-term implications.
Williams underwent right knee surgery in November 2023 to reconstruct a torn ligament in his right knee after he sustained a patellar dislocation, which caused him to miss all but six games last season.
In eight minutes against the Wolves, Williams produced an effective six points and four rebounds while shooting 3-5 from the field.
