So, you’ve made your list, you’ve checked it twice, and now it’s time to go forth and shop. We have a few handy, handheld suggestions for you, but why follow our advice when every weekend through New Year’s brings a new round of pop-up shops and holiday markets to the city? Here’s what’s coming up.

Winter Arts and Crafts Sale
9am–9pm Thu, 9am–7pm Fri, 9am–4pm Sat, Dec 5–7 | Multnomah Arts Center, 7688 SW Capitol Hwy
Find jewelry, textiles, ceramics, paintings, one-of-a-kind housewares, and more at this annual event sponsored by the Multnomah Arts Center Association. Proceeds support the more than 50 participating local artists and artisans and future programming at the Multnomah Arts Center.
Portland Night Market
6–9pm Thu, 4–11pm Fri & Sat, 11am–4pm Sun, Dec 5–8 | 100 SE Alder St
It’s time for the holiday edition of this recurring event in the Central Eastside Industrial District, modeled after similar markets in Vancouver, BC, and across Asia. Expect more than a hundred local vendors, plus food and drink. Tickets are $10 for Thursday night’s preview party. Other days admission is free, but you can buy a $10 timed fast pass to skip the entry line.
Maker Fairs at Portland Public Schools

Several PPS schools are having annual art fairs and holiday bazaars on this day, including Scott Elementary (10am–1pm, 6700 NE Prescott St), da Vinci Middle School (10am–4pm, 2508 NE Everett St), and Vernon K–8 (1–4pm, 2044 NE Killingsworth St).
Old Pal Holiday Market
10am–3pM Sat, Dec 7 | 3350 SE Morrison St
Makers and vendors such as Boet, Orange Pippins, Koop Kitchen, Hazel Cox, and Madre Linen pile in for this holiday market, with wine, cocktails, oysters, and a “wintry soup” on offer, too. The longtime restaurant is calling the event a “soft launch for some of the pantry staples” for its next iteration, Old Pal Kitchen and Market.
Wild Arts Festival
10am–5pm Sat & Sun, Dec 7 & 8 | Wingspan Event Center, 801 NE 34th Ave, Hillsboro
This fundraiser for the Bird Alliance of Oregon (formerly known as Portland Audubon) features works from artists and authors around the Northwest, plus a silent auction. Tickets (available online or at the door) are $13 and include parking, though the festival’s new location at the Hillsboro Fairgrounds is right by a MAX stop. Kids 18 and under are free. On Saturday morning, a $50 VIP ticket (ages 21 and over only) gets you early admission and mimosas.
Open Studios and Holiday Market at NW Marine Art Works
10am–4pm Sat & Sun, Dec 7 & 8 | NW Marine Art Works, 2516 NW 29th Ave
Dress warmly to check out the wares from more than 70 local artists and artisans in this converted industrial space in Northwest, featuring jewelry, ceramics, photography, apparel, and more. The on-site artists are joined by others who works in the North Coast Seed Building, Carton Service Building, and River St Studios. Conveniently, the event overlaps with the annual winter “steam-up” at neighboring model railroad mecca Staver Locomotive.
ScanFair Nordic Christmas Market
10am–5pm Sat, 10 am–4pm Sun, Dec 7 & 8 | Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
ScanFair includes an impressive list of Nordic-themed vendors selling textiles, candles, wood crafts, felted items, chocolates, and plenty of other goods. But the real draw might be the food (think meatballs, æbleskiver, and cardamom buns), drink (mead and aquavit, anyone?), and entertainment (Finnish dance troupes, Scandinavian musicians, a photo op with a 20-foot Viking ship replica, a meatball eating contest, and a pickled herring eating contest). Tickets are $15 for ages 12 and up, $10 ages 6–11, and free for kids 5 and under.
Holiday WoodWorker Market
11am–6pm Sat, Dec 7 | Baerlic Southeast Brewery and Taproom, 2239 SE 11th Ave
According to Baerlic, this market “is a celebration of all things inspired, made and evolving from nature’s most honest material”—which includes obvious wooden things like furniture and wood-framed sunglasses, and less obvious woodiness like cheeses from Briar Rose Creamery. We can safely say this all-ages event would be a favorite of Luis Guzmán’s guest woodworker character from the first season of Homicide: Life on the Streets, the one in the “I Love Wood” T-shirt. He wouldn’t mind that it’s also a handy time to release some new and vintage barrel-aged beers.
Weihnachtsmarkt
11am–6pm Sat, Dec 7 | German American Society of Portland, 2239 SE 11th Ave
Grab Lebkuchen herzen (heart-shaped gingerbread cookies), German Christmas tree ornaments, and wares from local artisans while you enjoy some Glühwein and live entertainment and the kids take pictures with Santa at this annual German American Society market. Tickets are $5 for age 16 and up.
Unique World pop-up markets aren’t limited to the holiday season (hence the shorts and sandals seen here).
Unique World Pop-Up
11am–4pm Sat & Sun, Dec 7 & 8 | Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 300 Winning Way
Find 160-plus local brands and artists at the holiday version of this recurring ticketed event ($15 admission, $40 VIP, ages 14 and under free), formerly known as Unique Markets. The majority of businesses are BIPOC, woman-owned, and/or LGBTQ+, and the it also offers free gift wrapping, a photo booth, and DJ lounges.
Noon–8pm Sat, Dec 7 | NE Sandy Blvd between 24th and 29th Aves
Daffodil Studios, Dāva Bead, Sonny’s House, Seagrape Apothecary, Collector Bar, Paydirt, and other Kerns businesses team up for this event along Sandy. Grab a punch card at a participating business—make a purchase (and get a punch) at five or more spots, and you’re eligible for a prize.
Outlet Holiday Market
Noon–8pm Sat, Dec 7 & Noon–5pm Sat & Sun, Dec 14 & 15 | Outlet, 2500 NE Sandy Blvd Ste E
Outlet, which describes itself as “part risograph print shop, part store, part illustration studio, part workshop & pop-up event space, part community resource, and part zine library,” kicks off its holiday sale as part of the Kerns Neighborhood Holiday Market but continues through the next weekend. Find gifts small and large, buttons and zines to calendars and posters, spread out over the store and studio space.
Laurelhurst Winter Bazaar
9am–4pm Sun, Dec 8 | Laurelhurst school, 840 NE 41st Ave
Laurelhurst, a Portland Public Schools K–8, holds an annual PTA fundraiser with more than 100 vendors, including some of its own students among the artisans and crafters. There’s also a wreath auction and a bake sale, with coffee and food trucks for more sustenance.
Faerie Faire: Yule Market
Noon–6pm Sun, Dec 8 | Watershed PDX, 5040 SE Milwaukie Ave
Magical attire encouraged at this gathering of vendors such as the Wylde Hagg, the Natural Witch, batwing-accented Huldra’s Blood Clothing, and Askult Oddities and Curiosities. Psychic readings and Krampus photos are also available at this all-ages event.

Krampus Night Market
5–9pm Fri, Dec 13 | Village Ballroom, 704 NE Dekum St
You can get your picture taken with Krampus at this holiday market, too (though we might prefer that experience in daylight, to be honest—we’re scaredy cats!), and find vendors selling candles, stained glass, baked goods, jewelry, vintage items, and more.
Crafty Wonderland Holiday Art & Craft Market
5–9pm Fri, 10am–5pm Sat & Sun, Dec 13–15 | Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
Hundreds of vendors pack the Oregon Convention Center for this 18-year-old event, touted as “the largest handmade craft show in the Northwest.” Timed tickets for Saturday and Sunday are $4, while Friday night’s “pre-show party” costs $25. If you can’t make it, Crafty Wonderland’s shops on SW 10th Avenue and on NE Alberta Street are there for you, too.
The Portland Bazaar opened on Black Friday for two days and returns for two weekends in December.
Portland Bazaar

More than 160 vendors—including Orox Leather Co., Vehicle Chocolates, Imaginary Authors, Uni Jewelry, and Matt Daddy Vintage—participate in this annual extravaganza spread over multiple weekends.
11am–6pm Sat & Sun, Dec 14 & 15 | Lloyd Center Mall
A recurring pop-up, the holiday iteration of this Native marketplace brings some extra life into the not-dead-yet Lloyd Center Mall, along with the ice skaters and Santa Claus. Find it in the former Ulta space, close to NE Halsey Street and 14th Avenue.

The Mud Room Holiday Sale
Noon–4pm Sat, Dec 14 | The Eleanor, 1605 NW Everett St
The Mud Room, a five-year-old community ceramics studio with locations on SE 10th Avenue and N Killingsworth Street, shows off the work of more than 60 of its pottery studio members at this annual sale. Admission is free, and all proceeds go directly to the artists.
Cafe Olli Holiday Market
4–8pm Sun, Dec 15 | Cafe Olli, 3925 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
This bakery-restaurant usually closes at 2pm Sundays, but it will be open after dark for its third annual holiday market. The free, all-ages event includes crêpe and oyster pop-ups, live music, Elm Esthetics skin-care items, candles from Onya’e Naturals, and other wares from local artists and makers.
Mall Rats Holiday Market
11am–6pm Sat, Dec 21 | Lloyd Center Mall
More than 30 artists and small business set up shop inside the old Express store for this recurring event focused on community and connection over capitalism (but there’s also capitalism happening, technically). The Mall Rats crew is also hosting an art show upstairs at the mall, at Floating World Comics and Grasshut, throughout December.
Find cards, custom-painted items, and all sort of cinema-inspired art at the annual Employee Holiday Sale at Movie Madness.
Employee Sale at Movie Madness

The video rental shop, part of the nonprofit that also runs the Hollywood Theatre, touts its staff as “an incredibly creative bunch who will come together to sell art and vintage items just before Christmas.”

The Japanese American Museum of Oregon in Old Town hosts a small-but-mighty holiday pop-up packed with Japanese-inspired items from local makers, including jewelry, hair accessories, cards, origami creations, cute cat art, and fantastical cloth pouches and sandwich wraps, as well as some curated vintage items.
Portland Saturday Market

This Portland standby and reliable last-minute option for desperate Santas celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Ceramics Northwest
Thru Dec 24 | Pioneer Place Mall, lower level, 700 SW Fifth Ave
The nonprofit Oregon Potters Association will once again be selling handmade ceramic creations from at this pop-up retail gallery, with live demonstrations and a hands-on clay area. Past events have included Hui-Yong Kim’s stunning vases that can get as small as a dime and as big as your torso, Joung Pak’s kitchenware, and Natasha Irvine’s mugs, bowls, and unique vases.
