Mayas Taquería, 1986 | Vintage Portland
Located at 1000 SW Morrison, Mayas Taquería first opened by owned Danny Cardoso on August 4, 1986. Cardoso first started selling his food out of a converted flower cart downtown before opening of the first Mexican-owned taquerias in Portland. Cardoso went on to open other restaurants such as Santa Fe Taquería in 1990 (831 NW 23rd Ave) and Aztec Willie’s in 1994 (1501 NE Broadway).
