Who is the Trail Blazers’ Brightest Hope?

The Portland Trail Blazers have plenty of reason for optimism this season, but strong internal development remains their best path towards regaining relevance in the NBA. Young players dot Portland’s roster, but when we’re talking about hopes for superstardom, none stand taller than Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe. If Blazers fans are looking for a leap forward, it rests on the shoulders of those two former lottery picks.

Henderson and Sharpe have both been through growing pains during the early parts of their careers. Each has showed promise throughout. As they enter their third and fourth seasons, respectively, the young guards are looking to assume starting roles, perhaps even taking the lead spots in Portland’s rotation. Their success, or lack thereof, will tell the Blazers everything they need to know about team needs going forward.

Given that, we want to ask a big question today. Sharpe and Henderson are both critical, but if you were going to pick just one of the pair to bet on as Portland’s next star, which would you choose? Is the brightest hope for Portland’s future Scoot Henderson or Shaedon Sharpe?
