The venerated Peruvian restaurant Andina is inviting diners to wear yellow for New Year’s Eve, the color of luck in the South American country that inspires the restaurant’s cuisine. To celebrate, live musicians will play all evening, and each table will support a pile of noise makers and New Year’s Eve hats to get in the spirit. Along with the normal, celebratory dinner menu of cebiches, mushroom gnocchi, and beef rib for two, specials will include a Champagne flight, oysters, and lava cakes with sparklers. The minimalist, plant-strewn dining room at wine bar Arden will play host to not one, but two dinner celebrations to close out 2024, with a special four-course dinner on Monday, December 30 and Tuesday, December 31. The team is still polishing the menu, but expect caviar service, salads, crudo, and truffle pasta, as well as some seriously geeky wines that owner Kelsey Glasser has saved for the holiday. Gado Gado

Gado Gado is saying goodbye to 2024 with a Dutch-Indonesian feast known as rijsttafel. The lively and colorful Hollywood restaurant will cover the table with pickles, sambal, clove-scented rice, duck wontons, tomato curry, banana leaf-wrapped sturgeon, and a host of other dishes for the family-style feast. Vegans have their own dedicated menu, too, one that swaps out the meaty items and adds dishes like vegan gado gado, king trumpet satay, and an apple hand-pie with miso butterscotch whip. Love Shack

G-Love’s ’70s-themed bar the Love Shack is throwing its own private party this year. Fifty dollars gets you in the door and is applied to your bill. For the festivities, the bar stays open until 1am and will feature its usual rolling carts of cocktails and eclectic, untethered house-party snacks. Additionally, revelers will find specials on the carts and menu, including mini-Champagne bottles with caviar bumps, white Bolognese with truffles, braised beef short rib, and a “chocolate bomb” dessert.

Normandie

A chic and airy bistro with an aquatic theme, Normandie sets aside its regular menu in favor of a three-course prix fixe dinner. For $120, diners will have their pick of dishes at each course, featuring Normandie’s personal take on French cooking that draws from global influences: think hamachi crudo with beet and hibiscus aquachile, crispy duck confit with coconut and chile creamed greens, Parisian seafood gnocchi, and carrot cake with coconut sorbet and candied kumquats. If that’s still not enough, add supplements like crab beignets, oysters, and fancy cheeses. You should make a reservation online, but if you don’t, the bar will have some walk-in seating available.

Nostrana and Enoteca Nostrana

Those looking for something a little more lowkey can enjoy a prix fixe Italian feast under the vaulted ceilings of the elegant Nostrana dining room. Those looking to party a bit can head next door to the sibling bar Enoteca, which will be even more dolled up for the occasion, with sparkling flights and a midnight balloon drop. The restaurant will serve the holiday menu at both spots and features choices along the way, including carpaccio, crudo, osso buco, duck tortellini, and desserts like chocolate mousse cake and lemon and almond roulade. Oma’s Hideaway

Rhinestone-riddled and vibrant, Oma’s Hideaway is doubling down on its already potent party vibes for New Year’s Eve with a touch of old-school flair. Inspired by the beef and broccoli dishes found at Chinese-American restaurants nationwide, the restaurant’s Prime Rib Spectacular features lobster toast, sambals, grilled Chinese broccoli, duck fat fries, and smoked prime rib, with griddled Fruity Pebbles rice crispy treats for dessert. St. Johns’ newest wine bar will be barely a month old on New Year’s Eve, but that won’t stop the bright and breezy Living Room Wines from partying. For $125 you can down cava by the glass while snacking on raw bar seafood, cheese and meat platters, sliders, and deviled eggs. Fans of the opulent Quaintrelle will have one last chance to sample its tasting menu, as the restaurant’s final service falls on New Year’s Eve. The nine-course dinner opens on caviar with beets, eggs, and potatoes, before moving through items like oysters with marrow and ramps, pork and shrimp ravioli, sweetbreads, and duck. It wraps things up with a chocolate course featuring feuilletine, hazelnut, and foie gras. Dinner is $300 per person, with an optional wine pairing for $150.
