League sources: The Trail Blazers are shutting down Yang Hansen at Summer League.
They’ve seen what they wanted to see out of him through his 4 games.
It’s been a successful run for Yang in Las Vegas. The 7-foot-1 center, who Portland drafted No. 16 overall, has become one of the league’s most talked about rookies at the annual summer showcase. Through four games, Yang averaged 10.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.3 blocks per game. He shot 16-of-35 from the field, 4-of-12 on 3s and 7-of-8 from the free throw line.
Yang and the Blazers have recorded a 3-1 record so far in Las Vegas, but failed to qualify for the Summer League playoffs. Portland’s fifth and final game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 p.m. PDT. The matchup will air nationally on NBATV and locally on KUNP.
