Queer nightlife spots in Portland are expected to roar with Pride music and life over the next two months, as the culturally recognized June Pride Month bleeds into the Rose City’s mid-July celebrations — a shift that was adopted in 2023 to avoid overlap with June holidays such as Father’s Day and Juneteenth.
Among local losses, such as losing more than 20-year-old Crush, and attacks to queer spaces nationally, such as the Trump federal administration’s assault on non-binary and transgender communities, Portland continues. New-ish spaces like Back 2 Earth and Misfits Bar and Lounge, and city-wide events like the Portland Pride Festival, will keep the city moving through the entire affair.
Most of Portland’s most iconic LGBTQ bars are set to be filled for drag brunches, dancing, and joyous festivities this summer. We’ve listed the best LGBTQ-friendly bars and restaurants for colorful drinks and some unexpectedly good food. For drag brunches, this piece could be helpful; for more specific Pride events in Portland, check out Pride’s main site.
